ive been a fan for a long time.having been brought up in the neighbouring parish,i thought it was because i related to everything a sands has ever written, but now i see the appeal is at a deeper level.I saw ben and colum in drogheda about 12 years ago when there was about 15 in the audience.ienjoyed the show but felt sorry that more people did not attend.last sunday in rostrevor was not like that. bewst ever night of entertainment and generously attended.keep on doing what you do so well sands family.

It was in 2004 in Stirling in Scotland, I don't remember the name of the pub but I know that we exchanged few words in french because your wife is french. Magic moment at 1700 km from home I was 18 years old.

Hello Ben,
What a superb concert the capacity audience were treated to last night in Armagh; the Sands Family musicians and songsters at their very best! The well sequenced blend of music, song, storytelling and natural humour, all incorporating a fascinating journey through the natural evolvement of life's journey, was an absolute pleasure to behold; so thoroughly professional in its overall presentation and yet so relaxed and enjoyable in its delivery. And what superb musical backing for every number; so skilful and delightful throughout. (Never forget to take that mandolin with you wherever you go!) Little wonder the truly appreciative audience spontaneously stood applauding in genuine acknowledgement at the end of the show.

Congratulations on a magnificent show that only the Sands Family could deliver with such aplomb. Please convey our thanks to Ann, Tommy and Colum, and indeed yourself, for such an entertaining evening.

Brian and Sheila Toal.

My wife and I will be visiting Rostrevor and much of Ulster, Nothern Ireland in june of 2011. I am intensly interested in the history and status of the Sands Family there. I was born to my mother Patricia Eileen Sands in Cleveland Ohio in 1952. My uncles William and Thomas and Aunt Sheila have visited Rostrevor in the past and I will continue the tradition. I hope to be able to attend a performance during our stay in N. Ireland!

The Castle in Sewickley Heights, Friday, March 26th was a night I could have turned in to day and a night again. Thank you for heartfelt, beautiful music. Every moment of the gathering was a joyous part of the song God placed in this world. It has to be sung and never have I heard it like that before. Every song, but in my memory especially "Don't Laugh At Me", rang true and brought what ever sorrow was in anyone's soul to the light ~ and joy followed. Thank you.

The most memorable event of our last visit to Ireland was the concert given by Sean Sands at the Molly Maguires in Ballyconnell. It was truly amazing and we were just looking for a little Irish music. He is the most amazing performer we have ever seen. Please let me know if he will be performing any time between June 20 and July 4, 2009. Thank you for this amazing experience which we will never forget.

May 10, 2009

Thank you so much for a wonderful evening at Fabrik K14 in Oberhausen!
Great music in a perfectly balanced arrangement of outstanding artistry. You made my girl-friend addicted to irish music...
After your concert I had asked Column for his "little concertina" - I didn´t mean the one he had been playing, but the one, I saw him playing years ago: the "pocket-concertina". That was the only thing I have been missing last night besides the "Loan of a spade" and..., and... Unfortunately a concert´s time is limited, but Column´s book might help me playing the songs myself.
That brings me to the next last thing I missed: Anne´s, Ben´s and Tommy´s songbooks.
love
Werner

Thank you for an absolutely wonderful concert in Asnæs last night! I hope you've made it home safely. Did you notice a flash of light outside the windows just after going on stage? I saw it and this morning I read a meteorite had fallen and exploded over the southern part of Sweden at 8:10 pm. The event was clearly visible in our region. Anyway, thanks again for a magnificent concert!

I fell in love with Celtic music over 30 years ago. I play a little guitar to relieve the stress from being a paramedic. The song that hooked me was "There Was Peter". I was wondering if you have the tuning/cords or the tabliture for it available. Would really like to learn the song. Excellent job over the years. Keep it up. Hope you can help.
Thanks

Have just returned from the concert in Armagh. First time I have ever seen the Sands family live. What can I say. It was just brilliant. Great songs and so much crack. Colum and Ben could make a living as comedians. It was a perfect night and one I would recommend to anybody. Not enough people know about this great family so all I can say is spread the word. I know I will.
